11/12/00 Last night, APR showed just how much ass they can kick! Sweeping aside their opponents, they grabbed yet another title. Round 20 is next week. Last night was also the first W.A.K.O, meeting. We discussed many issues, ranging from maps, rules, to different Divisions. Yes that's right. W.A.K.O. will be splitting into two divisions, to accommodate all the teams that are tying to get in. We will be running it on two separate servers, during the same time frame. The champs from each server, will then have to play each other, to determine the overall W.A.K.O. Champ for that night! Details for this will be forthcoming. We promised you it would happen….and it has. We have updated our rules page, which now includes our Code of Conduct. Please make sure that you and all the members of your team read those rules carefully, as they will be rigidly enforced. We will also be forming a Map Play test committee, made up of members of the W.A.K.O. community. The committee will be given a list of maps that we would like 'play tested', using the W.A.K.O. rules and class limits, to determine if it is playable or not. The play test will be run on the Fringe, at a predated time. Once the play test is over, I will ask the play testers to vote on how appropriate the map is for W.A.K.O. If you would like to volunteer yourself as a play tester, please We would also like to remind you that W.A.K.O. has a Message Forum. We would encourage you to use it, to list your comments, suggestions, or just to say 'hi'. As always, #wako is available for you to meet and chat. More changes to come! Keep checking this site for some interesting developments :-) -KoB-Havoc 11/05/00 Well another great night of W.A.K.O. ! To keep things rolling, we have decided to remove some maps from our lineup, and replace them with some fresh meat! To date, we have removed:Push, Bases_r, Nml, Crossover2, BAM, and Rock2. We have added two of Valve's new maps, alongside with some others: Flagrun, Avanti, Lost Canyon_r, Flagcontrol2, and Stronghold. As usual, the maps are available for download on our Rules page. We are also currently working on a Rules of Conduct page. Keep an eye on this site for further details about that. On a lighter note, Unreal Fortress is due to be released on the 10th of November. If the mod is as good as it looks, expect to see a UnF division of W.A.K.O. Don't forget to visit our IRC Chat room at #wako. The match is broadcast there via IRC BOT. So GG, have a good week, and see you all next Saturday for more Fraggin' and Flaggin' -KoB-Havoc 10/30/00 Well now Coyote has gone and made a liar out of me. Grrrrrr. I said I would get the site updated faster, and he was dragging his feet :) Anyways, good games were had for all to see, but the time has come to remove some "unpopular" maps from our W.A.K.O. lineup. So, we have removed Push, Bases_r, and Nml from our lineup. I had hopped they would work out, but unfortunately they didn't. By the following week, we will have some new maps for you to play, including some new Valve ones "hint hint nudge nudge". -KoB-Havoc 10/26/00 Well since Coyote forget a message, I guess I'll write one. Last Saturday seemed to have gone very well. According to Coyote, we will soon need to separate into two different divisions, run on two different servers! Rules and news on that to come. In the meantime, we realize that this site has not been updated nearly as quickly as it should have been, and for that we apologize. We will try to get the news posted as fast as possible, as well as update the standings page. I have been considering accepting match "writeups" from the various teams, but that is a discussion for another time. We also will have some new maps added to the tourney (not necessarily the ones inluded with the patch) and we will have news on that shortly. In the meantime, GG, and we hope to see you this Saturday! -KoB-Havoc 10/17/00 Well round 14 was a success. Had a few small problems like me sending two teams the same time and someone joining who shouldn't have been there. But the problems were handled (by a number of kicks and finally a ban) and many thanks to [Smeg] for allowing me to push their match back a bit. Despite that it seemed that everyone had a ton of fun. Remember it's only my second time running it, but I think I am doing a good job. (Ed. Note: Indeed you are) Also I would like to say that spots are filling up for the next round fairly quickly so teams might want to register as soon as possible. I cannot guarantee a spot to anyone unfortunately. I have to do it on a first come first serve basis in order to be fair. -KoB-Coyote 10/14/00 Well all had fun in our Murderball W.A.K.O. night! On a more somber note, due to a lack of time, I will be resigning as the coordinator of W.A.K.O. I have appointed -KoB-Coyote to be my replacement (ICQ # 58135840). Also, this site is temporarily back on the Tripod one, until IU gets his comp back up and running. So thanks for all the fun guys and gals! I will see you all in the future. -KoB-Havoc 09/17/00 It would appear, that in the Krazy spirit of W.A.K.O, the 'newbie' team tends to dominate their first night in the tourney. Agents Play Rough [APR] took to the servers with a vengeance last night, taking all 6 matches. I had the privilege of playing against them, as well as for them. And on a side note, I think KEA-Censored is starting up a "Ban Havoc from W.A.K.O. lobby group". If you are interested, please contact him. 8-) Round 13 is next week! Send in those E-mails. -KoB-Havoc 09/10/00 A n interesting night to say the least. None of the teams were able to hold their ground, and the title of champion filtered back and forth. Remember to send in those E-mails! Round 12 is next week. -KoB-Havoc 09/04/00 Well it just goes to show you, don't piss old people off. The Grumpy old People were scarffing Geritol and Viagra last night, and opted to kick some booty. There was one forfeiture, and one team arriving late, with only 2 members, so last nights rout was a bit easier then it should have been, but it was an accomplishment nonetheless. Would you believe that this was Round 10 of the Tourney. How time flies…… Round 11 is next week! Get those E-mails in ! -KoB-Havoc 08/27/00 Holy Newbies Batman! Talk about making an entrance. We would like to welcome a new team to W.A.K.O, team [Smeg], and also congratulate them on their sweeping victory last night! We also are proud to have another new team in the Tourney, the Grumpy Old People. Sounds to me like that what us Krazy Old Bastards are destined to become…...lol. Round 10 is next week. Don't miss out on the action! GG all ! -KoB-Havoc 08/20/00 Well Round 8 was a success. There was a lack of teams, but KEA filled in the blanks by fielding a full 3 teams! Thanks Censored! The Radicals and [SHR] teams slugged it out on Openfire (Ed. Note...spy is FUN!) and good fun was had by all. To keep the momentum, I've added two new maps to the rotation: 2morfort, and No Mans Land (Nml) Both are linked on the Rules page, so please download them before next weeks match. There are other maps currently under consideration, so look forward to some new playing fields in the future. So sign up for next week, and lets get ready for more Fraggin' and Flaggin'! -KoB-Havoc 08/13/00 Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, the results for Round 7 have been "scuttled". Round 7 was replaced by last nights round, and the scoreboard is set accordingly. My apologies to those who competed in the 1st Round 7. I can only offer assurances that it will not happen again. Having said that, the Results for Round 6 are M.I.A. I have not received them yet, and so cannot update the website with the scores from Round 6. If you have a copy of them, please E-mail them to me. To help ensure that no disputes over score take place, I would ask you to please take a screenshot of the final scoreboard, for each map you play. Don't forget to rename it later on, so it isn't replaced by accident. Thusly, if I do not have the results for that particular match (for some reason) you can then send me the Screenshot instead. A big thanks to all those who participate in W.A.K.O. Another BIG thanks to -KoB-Twistl and -KoB-Punisher for the assistance they have given me in running this wacky thing. Big props also go to [SHR]wdk for not only providing -KoB- with a great server, but for also taking the time to support W.A.K.O.'s use of that server. GG all ! Round 8 is next week! Send me those E-mails! -KoB-Havoc |
